Cub Scout requirement 4a: BUILD A BIRD FEEDER

Well, we at least accomplished one thing today. Kevakin and Deb worked on building a bird feeder. He didn't have the patience to wait for a bird so he thought he might get Leland to test it out.

Mackenzie's Letter Home

well this week hasnt been too productive. we've taught like 3 lessons, none of which were to actual investigators. just people on their doorsteps. not very exciting. we did get to have a special zone conference this last friday with Marlin K. Jensen of the Seventy. that's who is in that picture. transfers are coming up next week. i'll know by monday what's gonna happen. we're guessing Elder Andersen is going to be transferred, and i'll stay here. you never know though. so that happens next wednesday. right now we really only have 2 investigators. they're a couple that we met tracting. i think he just got out of prison, and he looks like it too. they're young, and he's got tattoos all over, and is ripped out of control. we're going to teach them saturday, and hopefully get them really interested. there's a young couple that moved into the ward as soon as i got here named the Barretts. they have a Wii and it's killing me that i cant play it. i'm really having a hard time with that. that and people who have guitar hero. i just wanna dominate some person just once, and then i'd be good for another 4 months or so.
well, that's about all i have to report this week, other than the weather is cooling down to about 93 plus humidity, so i guess that's better than 106.
Love,
Elder Morrison

The Leavenworth Trip

Aunt Deb thought it would be more fun to stay home with the kids and swim than go to Leavenworth and play golf. Turns out she was right... Kevin just beat everybody anyway. I've never had so much fun loosing.
It has been a great past few day. KK and family got here on Wednesday, they crossed paths with Kevin and family on Saturday night. It was fun to see everyone. Now, its the "wake up pinch" and time to get ready for school. This summer has flown by.

Letter from Elder Morrison

so today marks 3 months. i cant believe its been that long already.
so the weather is ridiculous. over 100 every day for the last week, of course with humidity. we havent tracted much the last week. we did find one couple though that are interested in what we have to say. it was kinda funny. we went over there, because its kindof a hit or miss with them if they're home. and they're only home at night. so we went over at 8:30ish, and the guy had already gone to bed. so we're teaching Kelly (the girl) about Christ's church back in the day, and how it was restored. we do an object lesson that involves stacking plastic cups. we were stacking the cups, and Will (the guy) wakes up (whether from us or something else, we dont know). he comes out to the living room of the apartment, and says, "what are you guys playing?" and we said, "nothing, its just part of the things we share." he's like, "aight, do your thing." and then proceded to get in the shower. dunno what that was all about, but that's alright. hopefully they really get interested. we left them with a Book of Mormon.
we made another Ted Drewe's Frozen Custard run this week. being the moving elders, we move stuff all over. this week we had to move a washer and dryer from Carondolet to storage in Creve Ceour. Ted Drewe's happens to be in Carondolet. so we had a nice frozen custard shake, which is so thick they call it a 'concrete'. they even flip it upside down to show you how thick it is. this place looks kinda like Dick's burger bar, but a little smaller and just frozen custard. no whammies =(
you need to send me a pic of this parakeet. i dont believe it till i see it on that one.
kids, be grateful you're still on summer break. these poor kids here have been in school since the 13th. how would you like that? it's weird driving by the pool now and not seeing anyone there even in 100+ degrees, because they're in school!
yes, transfers will be coming up here in 2 weeks from yesterday. Elder Andersen is pretty much guaranteed a transfer. 4 1/2 months in Chesterfield will about kill anyone. i'm hoping for a double transfer, but if i have to stick it out another 6 weeks, i guess that'd be ok. i did finally get a bike. and i got a sweet deal on it. it was like 325 or something for a bike, helmet and lock. helmet was regular like 70 bucks and the bike was regular like 350. helps to know people who know people.
well, that's all that i can think of just now. hope everything is going well. remember to pray always.
Love you all,
Elder Morrison

The Morrison Open

After reading the USGA rules, I had to change my theory on golf. So I took the family miniature golfing. I watched the golf channel for about an hour before we left and was totally psyched up. Deb said she would keep score and the four of us would compete. Turned out that there was no competition... Kevakin kicked our tails!
Creesh was just happy to be there, Tyler pouted all the way home, and Coltin pushed all the buttons he could. Including his fingers in the shape of an "L" on his forehead.
Now, we have to listen to Tyler making up excuses and challenging Kevakin to bazaar competitions so he can walk away the winner.... boy, what the little kids have to do to keep peace in the house.
Kevakin.... YOU ROCK!

A road sign on the way to the fair said... " FAIR LEFT"...so we just turned around and went home!

Well, today was the first day of the Grant County Fair. Unlike the rest of my siblings, the things we entered don't poop or stink... well, sometimes Tyler does. Anyway, Tyler entered a jewelry box and received a red ribbon, Creesh entered a book, wall hanging, puppet and pencil drawing and she received 2 red and two blue ribbons, Kevakin entered a painting and received a blue ribbon. Brindy (Creeshes friend) also pictured here received a blue ribbon on her puppet.

Have you ever wanted to give your kids the bird?

Well.... I did! A beautiful blue parakeet. They named it Baloo for the first day, only to change it to Leland after Creeshes new found love from the play Oklahoma. Who knows, parakeet might be good with a little ketchup, we'll have to see.

Letter from Elder Morrison

hey, another week gone by. i hope you got my last email. i sent it to kevin and wendy. not too much going on here in MO. still really struggling for investigators, and the one progressing investigator we have told us that she's going to have to stop meeting with us because once school starts it gets super busy. we're gonna try to meet with her on saturday nights or something, though. well, moving elders has its perks. we have picked up a few cool things that other missionaries have left behind. like a chess set (which i dominate elder andersen at), a small air pump for a bike tire, a football, some ensigns, and other stuff. problem is though that we're running out of room to put stuff cuz the storage sheds are getting full. i guess we're going to start giving things to some of the hispanic members that are in need. its not the best quality stuff, but it's better than nothing.
can you believe that i've already been out 2 1/2 months? maybe you can, but it's just zipped by for me. i heard that Jeanne talked with you the other night. sounds like she really likes you and you like her. when i get off my mission, and you come with me to MO, we'll probably stay at her house. she's already offered to, even though that wont be for about 2 years.
well, maybe i'll get something from you next week. by the way, if you're gonna send a package, dont put like cookies and stuff in there. i dont need junk food. i need to start losing some weight again.
love you all,
Elder Morrison
