Letter from Elder Morrison

hey family. this week has been pretty hectic as well. we are moving to our new apartment. between thursday and friday we got most of our stuff over to the new one. we stayed the night on thursday night, and then friday morning we realized we forgot some important things. we had no shower curtain, we had no toilet paper, elder tolman had no toilettries. major things. anyway, we had a member take us to walmart and to our other place for a little while to get a few needed items before we could shower that morning. then saturday, we helped some other people move. we have moved like 4 people this week. crazy.
we did get to go to the temple on friday, which was nice. it was kinda nice to get away from crazy everything and just relax and feel the spirit. it was our ward temple night, and there were like 4 people there, and we rode with someone who wasnt even going, but they were going that way, so we hitched a ride. the people that went to the temple didnt have room for us. i'm glad we got there though.
we are going to have a baptism this weekend. his name is John O'Rourke, and he is way solid. he married a member lady, and has gained a testimony of the truthfulness of the book of mormon and the church. i'm so excited for him.
there are a ton of members that ask us how the work is and we're like "there's going to be a baptism on the 28th" and they ask who, and after we tell them, they say "i thought he was a member!" pretty funny. he's a great guy.
we have been working with a couple other people we found tracting. one is darin, who is the christian scientist. he's really solid, and he's having us over tomorrow for dinner and a lesson. we're going to take a priest with us over there, who will be serving a mission within the next year. we're really excited about him.
we're starting to do some member work, which seems to be doing well so far.
we're kinda teachig people how to be member missionaries, and also getting to know members of the ward. i have found a few families that i really like.
also there are a few families that i knew from previous areas that moved here. one is from chesterfield and one from st. peters. there's one family that is way cool. the schmutz (said shmootz) family reminds me a little bit of our family. it's a place where missionaries can be themselves and get off of the pedestal that everyone expects them to be on. they have a son on a mission as well, and sister schmutz has been called as our dinner calendar coordinator, so she gets us dinner appointments. she's really fun.
other than that, there really isnt too much going on. things are getting better, though every day still has a down section to it. things are definitely getting better though.
i dont get to see alex because he's in a different zone, but we talk regularly, especially with questions about crystal city. elder goudie said that the mission wants him to go to the counselor and possibly the psychiatrist i went to. he'll probably be moved to this zone next transfer.
there may even be a possibility of serving with him again, which i would love.
so take this news with a grain of salt...but i weighed myself at our old place and was about the same as last week. but i weighed myself in our new place (which has a tip scale, which i think are really accurate) and it was totally different. the old one said 317, and the new one said 306. so i dont know which to trust, but i like the reading of the latter better. i can almost fit back into my plaid suit, which you better believe i'm coming home in. that is the goal, to be able to come home in that suit. hopefully i'll be able to wear it a couple sundays before i go home, but we'll see.

sister stokes says that the boys miss us a lot. they had the missionaries over for dinner, and the kids were so excited. when alex and his greenie showed up, the oldest got this weird look on his face and looked at his mom, and said "these arent the right ones". lol. i think they miss us a lot, but i miss them a lot too.

well, i guess that's about it for this week. i hope that everything is going well for you, and know that you're all in my prayers.
love you,
Elder Morrison (59 days)
